On December 7, 2018 the forum ”Hotel and Restaurant Business in Sumy Region” was held in Sumy. It brought together about 100 owners, managers and experts of the hotel and restaurant business, who were interested in improving the quality and efficiency of services’ delivery, as well as in the development of tourist attraction of the Sumy region.
The organizer of the event is NGO “Council of Young Scientists» at the Sumy Business Information Center in Sumy within the framework of the EU4Business initiative with the grant support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The forum discussed issues of the hotel and restaurant industry such as:
– Prospects for development of hostels in Ukraine and development of the hotel industry in Sumy region;
– Secrets of effective selection, retention and motivation of staff;
– Professional ethics, safety and service standards;
– Eco-certification in hotel and restaurant business;
– Features of attracting financing in the hospitality industry.

A pleasant surprise for the participants of the forum was a masterclass on the preparation of pizza from the restaurant-pizzeria “Simbiosi” and a masterclass on the preparation of sushi from the restaurant of Pan-Asian cuisine “Yapi”.
A special highlight was the practical workshop on cooking Pan-Asian cuisine, held by Dmitry Yegupov (Dnipro), co-founder of the First Ukrainian Chefs Association.

This is a platform for questions and answers from professional experts. A platform is an instrument for open discussion of directions and prospects of hotel and restaurant business as a component of development of tourist attraction of Sumy region”.
