About us


Non-government organization “Council of Young Scientists”

was founded in 2010.

It is a non-profit organization and is created by young scientists of Sumy State University and representatives of other HEIs. Students of HEIs in Sumy and Sumy region are traditionally involved in realization of the projects as volunteers.

The team of NGO “Council of Young Scientists” consists of more than 30 postgraduate students and researchers of Sumy, Sumy region and other regions of Ukraine.

Our values are freedom, development, dignity and human rights.

The purpose of the organization is the promotion of social and economic development of local communities in Ukraine and creation of an open civil society; realization of artistic, cultural, scientific and organizational potential of young people; promotion of healthy lifestyle; creating conditions for lifelong education of high quality.

The main spheres of the organization activities:

  • research activity;
  • education for children and adults;
  • implementation of social and economic projects aimed at the development of local communities (priority areas: small and medium-sized businesses development, environment and provision of urban amenities, cultural and artistic life, leisure, social communications and media, protection of human rights).

The organization has partners and operates throughout Ukraine.

Since 2014 the organization has become a member of the 2nd Working Group “Economic integration and convergence with EU policies” of Ukrainian National Platform of Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership.

In 2016 the organization obtained accreditation of EVS (European Voluntary Service – EU programme for education, training, youth and sport) and became a member of the Public Union “Ukrainian Adult Education Association”.

Since 2017 the organization is a partner of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development while realizing the Programme “EU for Business» (EU4Business).
