Community of the future (in frames of the Programme “Neighbors 3.0”)

The aim of the project is to promote youth participation in the development of local communities, to strengthen the local (regional) identity, to raise the level of social activity of the local community, to enhance the coordination (networking) between activists (NGOs), local authorities and youth (pupils and students) regarding the development of communities.

Financial support: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Robert Bosch Foundation and the Foundation “Education for Democracy” within the Programme “Transformation in the Region» – RITA, Polish-American Freedom Foundation.

Project provides:

  1. Meetings with pupils and students of Sumy region in order to clarify their vision of the future local community.

  2. Making presentations (giving lectures) for pupils and students to highlight the historical features, current state and prospects of development of local communities in Sumy region as well as exploring mechanisms of achieving social changes by community members individually and by community collectively, by local authorities and NGOs.

  3. Organization and holding the contest “Community of the Future through Youth’s Eyes” among schoolchildren and students (for students – competition of drawings, photos and videos on the topic “The community where I want to live”, for students – competition of development strategies of Sumy district / region / Sumy city).

  4. Presentation of the project in the neighboring forum in Warsaw in frames of a joint Ukrainian-Polish-Belarusian Programme “Neighbors 3.0” which aims at support of individuals working to reach solidarity and build civil society in Poland, Ukraine and Belarus.
