On April 26-27, 2018, an event – Forum-exhibition “Energy Efficiency and Saving Technologies for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Sumy region” was held for Sumy Region’s entrepreneurs.
The event was organized by the NGO Young Scientists Council within the initiative of the EU4Business, aimed at developing small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, with a grant from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The Forum-exhibition gathered owner and managers of small-, medium- and large size businesses of all sectors of the economicy who are interested in improving economic efficiency of their businesses through an introduction of energy-saving technologies.
Stanislav Ignatiev, moderator of the forum, head of the Kharkiv Energy Cluster, said: “This forum is a business ground for local businesses, businesses from abroad, financial donors, where we can discuss and develop joint projects, to develop a common vision for energy efficiency and implementation of “green energy” projects”.
Exhibition stands of enterprises and organizations were presented to attendees, where participants got acquainted with the modern energy saving technologies and the possibilities of their practical application. The communication of participants and representatives of companies in the format of presentations of technologies and equipment made it possible for a large number of contacts between customers and manufacturers.
A significant part of the forum consisted of presentations of technology companies, presentations of the EBRD consulting services, speeches by speakers and experts in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving.
Olga Maksimenko, speaker of the Forum, President of the Public Association “Expert Interpectoral Association of Ukraine”, noted: “It is very important that speakers from all over Ukraine, respected and experienced experts, whose activities are aimed at introducing energy efficiency as well as ordinary energy sector employees, can be heard at this forum for businesses and organizations”. The general part of the forum was followed by questions from participants, which were answered by experts:

Volodymyr Mamalyga, certified Energy Manager, Consultant of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, conducted a workshop for interested participants on the topic: “Energy audit and business planning in the field of energy saving”. The participants discussed the specifics of the use of energy efficient equipment and also studied practical aspects of energy saving projects’ implementation: energy saving with the use of electric drives, energy saving in pumping installations, etc. The workshop’s participants received certificates.
Summarizing the event, Taras Savchenko, Head of the Sumy Business Support Center, said: “The purpose of this forum was not only to inform participants about something interesting and new in the field of energy efficiency and energy conservation, but to focus on the practical component, which is why this forum includes an exhibition of stands of businesses from Ukraine, Poland and Germany, as well as a practical workshop“.
